The Virus TI Snow fits on an issue of Time magazine and comes with a bag fashionable enough to make your friends jealous. The context-sensitive programming interface takes you straight to the right edit page with zero effort, and makes switching patches while performing a breeze. But the exciting news is that it utilises the same, non-compromise sound engine and integration like its bigger brothers, which ultimately shows that small doesn't have to mean less.


The TI Snow is 100% compatible with all patches for the TI series and plays back a maximum of 50 voices with 4 multi-timbral parts (64 multi performances, 512 RAM and 512 ROM patches). The oscillator models include virtual analog, hypersaw, wavetable and graintable types. The filter section features a Moog cascade filter emulation with 1-4 poles and self-oscillation among others. The FX section includes simultaneous reverb, delay, eq, distortion, lo-fi effects, bass boost, phaser and chorus/flanger - even in multi mode.


Sounds can also be edited and stored using Virus Control, their VST/AU/RTAS compatible plug-in. 16 patch select buttons can be used for fast access to edit menus and navigation. "Easy edit mode" allows for fast and dramatic changes providing a selection of context-sensitive parameters which adapt by analysis of the underlying sound patch. Nevertheless, pretty much all parameters can be edited on the hardware when switched into "expert edit mode".


The sturdy metal enclosure of Virus TI Snow houses a pair of stereo inputs and outputs (output level @ +4dB), MIDI in- and outputs. USB can be used for Total Integration, which offers another three stereo outputs into the Virus Control plug-in and sample-accurate MIDI timing. The audio inputs can be utilised to mangle any type of sound using the filters and effects. The Snow comes in a messenger bag which offers enough space for the power supply and additional cables.

Remote Templates
Turn the Virus into a MIDI remote, the sound engine will still work independently. 32 user programmable templates to reassign most panel knobs controlling control third party plug-ins and MIDI synthesizers (TI Desktop/Keyboard/Polar only).


Smooth parameter changes
Adaptive control-smoothing provides parameter changes with no zippering artifacts. With knob quantize, a clock ratio is selected and parameter changes are updated at specified intervals only. The result is sample-and-hold parameter movements, evocative of step sequencer sounds.


Total Integration
Total Integration is a proprietary technology, which seamlessly links any Virus TI model and a computer to create a unified system consisting of a powerful hardware synth and a virtual instrument plug-in, which not only controls the Virus TI but also receives audio from it, in order to allow post-processing right inside your computer. This way you get the best of both worlds: Your Virus TI will calculate all the voices and effects and therefore makes the CPU of your computer available for other tasks. Since it is driven by the Virus Control plug-in, the timing (unlike normal MIDI and USB-MIDI timing) will be sample-accurate, and all sound data will be saved within the song or project. Virus Control also offers sophisticated editing capabilities, along with an easy-to-use librarian page to keep track of all your Virus TI patches.
