Tube Logic and Responsive Analog Power Amp

At the heart of the Katana-25 is the Tube Logic design philosophy, which recreates the sound and dynamic behavior of classic tube amplifiers. The responsive analog 25-watt power amp works closely with the specially tuned speaker and responds directly to different playing techniques. Warm lows, clear highs and punchy dynamics create a lively sound – with clean settings as well as heavier distortion.

8-Inch Speaker and Open-Back Cabinet

The built-in 20 cm (8") speaker has been specially tuned to the compact cabinet. Combined with the open back and carefully engineered construction, it produces a full, balanced guitar sound. Despite its compact size, the Katana-25 delivers convincing tonal depth for living rooms, smaller practice spaces and the home studio.

Six Amp Characters for Many Styles

Six distinct amp characters with additional variations cover a wide tonal range: from sparkling clean sounds through dynamic crunch and classic rock tones to powerful high-gain sounds. A dedicated amp character is tailored to electro-acoustic instruments. This makes the Katana-25 suitable for pop, blues and country as well as hard rock and metal.

More Than 60 BOSS Effects

The amp gives you access to more than 60 effects from the BOSS effects library. Up to five effects can be used at the same time. The BOSS Tone Studio app provides the full effects selection with advanced editing options – for rhythm parts, solo passages and creative sound experiments.

Controls, Display and Tone Settings

Gain and Volume set the amount of distortion and level, while the 3-band EQ with bass, middle and treble lets you fine-tune the frequency response. A master volume control sets the overall level. The backlit graphic LCD with 160 × 80 pixels makes it easy to navigate settings and functions.

The Tone Setting section offers 20 ready-to-play presets, with a further ten memories for your own sounds – 30 memories in total. The Select knob and the Edit/Tuner, Effects and Tap buttons let you edit key amp and effect parameters directly on the unit. The Tap button adjusts the tempo of delay effects, and the built-in tuner makes tuning your guitar easy.

Power Control: 25 W or 0.5 W

The switchable Power Control function adapts the output power to the playing situation. In addition to the full 25 watts, a 0.5-watt mode is available. This lets you achieve dynamic, driven amp sounds even at low room volume – ideal for players who want the feel of a cranked amp without high volume levels.

Bluetooth and BOSS Tone Studio App

With Bluetooth audio, you can play songs from a smartphone, tablet or other compatible device directly through the speaker or connected headphones – to jam along, learn new pieces or practice with backing. Supported profiles are A2DP for audio and GATT for MIDI over Bluetooth Low Energy.

The free BOSS Tone Studio app offers an intuitive interface for detailed sound editing, managing your own presets and accessing the sound-sharing platform BOSS Tone Exchange. With the Session function, you can play YouTube videos within the app and set up automatic tone setting changes during playback.

USB-C Audio Interface and Headphone Output

Via the USB-C port, the Katana-25 connects directly to a computer or compatible mobile device as a class-compliant audio interface – guitar signals can be recorded digitally without additional audio hardware. The Phones/Rec Out jack (3.5 mm stereo mini jack) enables silent practice with headphones and also serves as an additional output for recording.

Footswitch and Wireless Control

The 6.3 mm TRS jack for footswitch or expression pedal accepts compatible wired BOSS footswitches, for example to switch tone settings while playing. The amp also supports wireless control via the BOSS FS-1-WL Wireless Footswitch and the EV-1-WL Wireless Expression Pedal.

Compact and Lightweight

Measuring 360 × 180 × 310 mm and weighing just 4.8 kg, the Katana-25 is easy to carry and fits neatly into a living room, practice room or home studio. The sturdy cabinet construction is designed for reliable everyday use. This makes the Katana-25 a flexible solution for beginners and experienced guitarists alike.
