Inspiriert von den neuen Pontiac-Fahrzeugen aus dem Jahr 1959 wurde Shoreline Gold bis Ende 1965 als Fender Custom-Farboption eingeführt. Danach wurde es durch Firemist Gold ersetzt.Sie sieht viel weicher aus als Gold Top und ähnelt eher einem „Champagner“-Farbton.
Bei dieser Lackierung handelt es sich um eine Einkomponenten-Acrylfarbe. Die Farbe lässt sich sehr gleichmäßig auftragen, so dass ein spektakuläres metallisches Aussehen entsteht. Es ist wichtig, die aufgetragene Schicht mit einem klaren Polyurethan- oder Nitrocelluloselack zu überziehen, um die Beschichtung zu schützen und ihr Tiefe zu verleihen.
