The Yamaha EAD20 is a versatile Electronic Acoustic Drum Module that combines the natural sound of an acoustic drum kit with modern electronic sounds, effects and recording functions. The newly developed sensor unit attaches easily to the bass drum hoop and captures the entire drum kit using two integrated microphones. It also features an integrated kick trigger for precise detection of bass drum strikes.

Natural Drum Kit Recording with Minimal Setup

Thanks to its dedicated sensor unit, the EAD20 allows you to capture the sound of a complete acoustic drum kit without complicated microphone setups. The two selected condenser microphones use a carefully optimized XY stereo configuration to deliver a balanced and natural sound. The newly developed construction reduces unwanted vibrations and mechanical noise, making the EAD20 ideal for rehearsals, live performances, recording and video production.

Combine Acoustic and Electronic Sounds

The EAD20 combines the natural sound of an acoustic drum kit with an extensive selection of electronic sounds. Its integrated AWM2 tone generator provides 2,203 Voices that can be combined with the microphone signal. This allows you to enhance the bass drum and other instruments or add electronic sounds and textures to an acoustic drum kit.

Professional Effects and Sound Processing

The EAD20 provides extensive signal processing options for detailed sound shaping. These include reverb, two FX processors, master effects, a master compressor and a 5-band master EQ. Microphone and trigger signals can also be processed separately, allowing you to adapt the sound precisely to different musical applications.

Ideal for Hybrid Drumming

The integrated kick trigger allows you to combine the acoustic bass drum sound with electronic sounds and samples. The EAD20 can also be expanded with additional electronic pads and acoustic drum triggers. Up to nine pads or triggers can be connected, providing plenty of flexibility for creating sophisticated hybrid drum setups.

USB Trigger Link and Recording

With USB Trigger Link, compatible drum modules and additional pads can be integrated easily. The EAD20 can also function as a USB audio interface for computers and DAW applications. USB connectivity supports both stereo audio and multi-channel audio transmission, making the module an excellent solution for recording, streaming and music production.

Looper, Sampler and Recorder

The Yamaha EAD20 offers a wide range of creative performance functions. The integrated Looper allows you to record rhythmic patterns and layer them on top of each other. The sampling function also allows you to record your own sounds and use them as playable sounds. An integrated recorder supports recording and playback of performances.

50 Preset Scenes and 200 User Scenes

The EAD20 provides 50 or more Preset Scenes as well as 200 User Scenes for different musical applications. Complete sound and effect configurations can be stored and recalled quickly, making it easy to switch between different setups during rehearsals, performances or recording sessions.

Automatic Setup and Easy Operation

The EAD20 features automatic setup functions for microphones and triggers. Gain Auto Setup optimizes microphone levels, while Crosstalk Auto Setup simplifies the configuration of connected triggers. The EAD Touch App also provides convenient control and detailed sound editing using a compatible smartphone or tablet.

Practice, Video Recording and Streaming

The EAD20 is not only suitable for live performances and recording, but also for practicing and online lessons. The AUX input allows smartphones and other audio devices to be connected so that backing tracks can be played together with your own drum performance. Together with the Rec'n'Share App, you can record, edit and share performance videos.
